Nintendo has finally confirmed the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 in Malaysia. According to an official post from Nintendo Southeast Asia, Malaysian gamers will be able to get their hands on the new console starting July 3, 2025.
This announcement ends months of uncertainty for Malaysian fans. While Nintendo earlier said the Switch 2 would launch in other Southeast Asian countries like Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines on June 26, Malaysia was notably left out of that initial announcement. The wait is now almost over, with Malaysia getting the console just one week after its neighbors.

The Nintendo Switch 2 brings major improvements over the original Switch. The most eye-catching upgrade is the bigger 7.9-inch screen that supports high-definition visuals with HDR, VRR, and up to 120 fps for smoother gameplay. When connected to your TV, it can display games in crisp 4K resolution. Nintendo promises the Switch 2 will run games faster and look better than its predecessor. The console features improved processing power, better graphics, smoother frame rates, and quicker loading times.
The July 3 date puts Malaysia slightly behind its Southeast Asian neighbors but still within Nintendo’s original summer launch window for the region. No pricing details or pre-order information for the Malaysian market has yet to be announced. Currently, the console will be available in two versions – one without any games and another that comes with Mario Kart World included.
