The action RPG has shown consistent growth since its initial release in February 2017, when it first launched on PlayStation 4 in Japan. The game subsequently released in North America and Europe in March 2017, followed by a worldwide PC release via Steam later that month. Xbox One players gained access to the title in June 2018.
Square Enix has supported the game with multiple editions over the years, including the “Game of the YoRHa Edition” for PlayStation 4 and PC in February 2019, and most recently, “The End of YoRHa Edition” for Nintendo Switch in October 2022.

This latest milestone with amount of units sold further solidifies NieR: Automata’s position as one of Square Enix’s successful franchises, demonstrating its continued appeal to players across multiple platforms and regions.
