Warner Bros. Games, NetherRealm Studios, and RTS have unveiled the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition: Season 2, a global esports program featuring a substantial $255,000 USD prize pool. The competition will span multiple regions through both live events and online tournaments.
The season kicks off with Pro Kompetition Mexico in Mexico City on February 22 and will conclude with the Final Kombat World Championship in September 2025. The competition structure includes 10 major in-person events across North America, Latin America, South America, and Europe, where players can earn points toward their global leaderboard ranking.
Notable tournaments include established fighting game events such as Combo Breaker in Chicago, CEO Fighting Game Championships in Orlando, and Evo 2025 in Las Vegas. The top eight players with the most leaderboard points from in-person events will secure spots in Final Kombat, with the Evo champion receiving an automatic qualification.

The competition also features online tournaments divided into three main regions: the North American League, InterKontinental Kombat, and Liga Latina. These online divisions will contribute 10 players to Final Kombat, though online participation doesn’t affect the global leaderboard standings. A Last Chance Qualifier will determine the final contestant, completing the 20-player roster for Final Kombat.
The Final Kombat World Championship will utilize a unique format, initially splitting competitors into four groups of five for round-robin play, followed by a double-elimination bracket featuring the top two players from each group. The entire Mortal Kombat 1 competition will offer over 100 hours of live tournament action, available for viewing on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook.
