Monster Hunter Now is Getting Its First Leviathan in Summer with 2024 Roadmap

Looks like Monster Hunter Now will be bringing in its first Leviathan this coming summer as Capcom unveiled a new roadmap for the game for 2024.

A new roadmap for Monster Hunter Now was unveiled during the Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary Special Program, revealing what exciting content Capcom has planned for this year.

Spring 

Coming in just a few days, we will have the Spring Major Update “The Vernal Invader”, bringing in Odogaron and Tzitzi-Ya-Ku as the new additional monsters.

Aside from those two, Deviljho will also be introduced alongside the Invasion mechanic, fitting for a belligerent monster known to throw surprise parties at hunters during hunts since Monster Hunter Tri.

Charge Blade will also be added as the game’s new weapon type, along with plenty of other additions.

Summer

Summer would also see a major update, but more interestingly, Capcom specifically highlighted that Monster Hunter Now will get its first Leviathan monster.

Up until this point, Monster Hunter Now has only consisted of monsters from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, which did not have any Leviathan monsters.

This means that this update would be the first time Monster Hunter Now includes a monster not from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, opening its doors wide open for monsters from other games in the series.

Coming in the summer also led to speculations; perhaps, we might see a coastal biome for seaside theme monsters.

Leviathan has always been a fan-favorite monster category since Monster Hunter Tri, and fans would obviously be busy filling up their wishlist right now, hoping for the likes of Lagiacrus, Mizutsune, Somnacanth, or maybe Gobul to appear.

Monsters aside, Summer also introduces a new weapon type along with other features, and with Charge Blade being introduced in the Spring Major Update, this left Hunting Horn, Switch Axe, Insect Glaive, and Heavy Bowgun out of the 14 weapon types in the series not being added into Monster Hunter Now yet.

Autumn and Winter Onwards 

The roadmap also highlighted that autumn would be the 1st anniversary of Monster Hunter Now and various events are already being planned.

Meanwhile, winter will follow the other seasonal updates and introduce new monsters, weapon types, and additional features.
