Konami Digital Entertainment has announced a landmark licensing partnership with the Malaysian Football League (MFL), bringing Malaysia’s top domestic football clubs into the global gaming phenomenon eFootball. This collaboration allows fans to take their passion for local football beyond the stadium and onto the virtual pitch, making Malaysian football accessible to players worldwide.
The integration coincides with the release of eFootball version 5.4. Players can now lead their favourite Malaysian clubs to victory, featuring authentic team kits, updated player rosters, and the high-fidelity gameplay that has become the hallmark of the series.
Malaysian Clubs Join the Global Stage

All 13 participating MFL teams are now available in eFootball, including Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), Selangor FC, Terengganu FC, Sabah FC, Kuala Lumpur City FC, Negeri Sembilan FC, PDRM FC, Kuching City FC, Kelantan The Real Warriors FC, Penang FC, Imigresen FC, Melaka FC, and Brunei’s DPMM FC.

“This partnership allows Malaysian football to connect with fans in an entirely new way,” said Dato’ Ab Ghani Hassan, President of the Malaysian Football League. “Supporters can now represent their favourite Malaysia League clubs in eFootball, bringing the excitement and rivalry of our league into the digital world.”
In-Game Rewards and Dedicated Server

To celebrate the league’s arrival in eFootball, players logging in during the campaign period will receive a Selection Contract. This allows users to obtain special Highlight cards featuring standout Malaysia League players, offering an easy way to enhance squads with local talent.

In addition, Konami has launched a dedicated Malaysia server to improve gameplay responsiveness and match stability for local players. This is expected to enhance the online experience, creating smoother matches and a more competitive environment for the country’s growing eFootball community.
Spotlight on Malaysia’s eSports Scene

Konami is also emphasising esports development, currently hosting the eFootball Championship 2026 Malaysia Cup. The finals will take place on 18–19 April at LaLaport BBCC, showcasing the nation’s top players in an offline showdown. Winners from both mobile and console divisions will earn spots in the eFootball Championship 2026 Open Regional Finals, further elevating Malaysia’s presence in the global competitive scene.
With this partnership, Konami and MFL bring Malaysian football to a wider audience, combining the thrill of local leagues with the immersive world of eFootball. Fans can now experience the game like never before, whether on console or mobile, with authentic clubs, players, and a competitive online environment.
