Mega Manectric appears in Pokemon GO

In a shocking new development, Mega Manectric and various other electric-type Pokemon will appear in Pokemon GO‘s Charge Up event.

The Charge Up event is similar to other monotype events in the past like Psychic Spectacular and Bug Out! However, instead of focusing on psychic and bug types, Charge Up will focus entirely on electric Pokemon. In this event, players will get to focus on catching, strengthening and even evolving electric-type Pokemon.

This event goes live next week from 16th March 10.00 am to 22nd March 8.00 pm. Note that like all Pokemon GO events, the times above are based on your local time.

In this event, Mega Manectric, Therian Forme Thundurus and Tynamo will be making their Pokemon GO debut. Players can encounter Mega Manectric in Mega Raids. Therian Forme Thundurus will appear in five-star raids. Players can find Tynamo in the wild and in one-star raids.

Besides Tynamo, other electric-type Pokemon that have a higher encounter rate in the wild include:

• Alolan Geodude
• Voltorb
• Electrike
• Stunfisk

As for 5km eggs, players can expect to see the following Pokemon that will hatch:

• Pichu
• Elekid
• Electrike
• Shinx
• Joltik
• Tynamo
• Stunfisk

In addition, Timed Research and event-exclusive Field Research will centre around electric-type Pokemon. Furthermore, during this event, Gifts have a higher chance of containing Evolution items.
