Today at the RGG (Ryu Ga Gotoku) Summit 2022 event, SEGA has revealed a brand new story trailer for Like a Dragon: Ishin as well as announcing the release date being 22th February 2023.
Like a Dragon: Ishin was revealed earlier today during the PlayStation State of Play event where another trailer of the game was shown as well as a vague release date February 2023, but during the RGG Summit event, the actual release date of the game was finally revealed to the public.
Originally released back in 2014, Like a Dragon: Ishin is no being remade using Unreal Engine where you’ll be able to see both old faces as well as new ones joining in from the newer titles. This remake will offer players a brand new battle system, new mini-games and more.
At the end of the Edo Period, Japan, which was once ruled by the samurai, entered an age of
turmoil. The large-numbered Shishi, who wished to build a nation around the Emperor gathered in Kyo
with ideals of overthrowing the Bakufu and expelling foreigners. Within their numbers, harboring no desire to change the world, was a man who only lived for revenge: Sakamoto Ryoma.
In order to avenge his mentor, he hides his identity and blends into the city of Kyo, becoming a member of the Shinsengumi, a notorious group of assassins feared as the Mibu Wolves. Ryoma gives up his name and becomes “Saito Hajime”, determined to infiltrate the group no matter what dangers may lie in his wake. In an era of change, the heroic Sakamoto Ryoma carves out his place in history. Another legend begins now.
