Lies of P developer NEOWIZ has confirmed that the sequel to Lies of P has officially entered full-scale development following the completion of its prototype phase.

The update was shared as part of the company’s Q1 2026 earnings results, offering one of the clearest progress reports yet on the highly anticipated follow-up to the Soulslike action RPG.

Lies of P Sequel Development Progress Confirmed

While NEOWIZ did not reveal a title, release window, or gameplay details for the project, the company confirmed that development has now moved beyond the prototype stage and into full-scale production.

The sequel was originally teased by director Choi Ji-won roughly two and a half years ago following the strong reception of the original Lies of P. Since then, official updates regarding the project have remained limited.

The latest announcement suggests that both NEOWIZ and developer ROUND8 Studio are now significantly ramping up production on the next installment.

NEOWIZ Highlights ROUND8’s Narrative Focus

During the earnings discussion, NEOWIZ also spoke about ROUND8 Studio’s focus on storytelling and narrative design. The company described narrative development as one of the studio’s “core competencies.”

NEOWIZ specifically referenced the recruitment of Seung-ho Jin and Kay Lee as directors, noting that both individuals originally came from scenario writing backgrounds before transitioning into leadership positions within the studio.

Although both directors are currently leading separate projects, Choi Ji-won remains attached to the Lies of P sequel project. NEOWIZ did not confirm additional details regarding the development structure, though the company indicated that narrative expertise continues to play a central role in the studio’s approach.

Possible Reveal Speculation Ahead of Summer Game Fest

The announcement has also led to speculation surrounding a potential reveal during upcoming gaming showcases. Last year, the Lies of P: Overture expansion was shadow-dropped during Summer Game Fest, leading some fans to wonder whether NEOWIZ may share a teaser for the sequel during this year’s event on June 5.

At present, NEOWIZ has not officially confirmed any showcase appearances or announcement plans for the game.

Lies of P Continues Strong Momentum

Since its original release, Lies of P has become one of the more commercially successful Soulslike games outside of FromSoftware’s catalog. According to the latest figures referenced in the report, the base game has now sold more than four million copies worldwide.

The success of the original game, combined with continued post-launch support and the release of Lies of P: Overture, has helped establish the franchise as one of NEOWIZ’s key properties moving forward.

The upcoming sequel is currently in development for platforms that have not yet been officially announced, though the original game launched across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
