Happy Elements has announced the end of service for Last Period, after about 6 years of service. Following the announcement, there will no longer be any new units, but there will be more updates in events and story before the servers go offline.

Last Period will be concluding its main story before the end of service on 27 December 2022, 15:00 JST. Effective immediately, in-app purchases have been disabled, with any external promotional codes set to expire when the game shuts down.

The schedule given on the official notice roughly goes as follows:

• First half October 2022: New Limited-time event
• Late October 2022: Treasure Hunt Season 5, Final Guild Raid event
• First half November 2022: Limited-time event rerun
• Late November 2022: Main Story Part 2, Final Chapter Part 1
• First half December 2022: Main Story Part 2, Final Chapter Part 2, new Limited-time event
• Late December 2022: Memorial app release

Refunds for any paid currency can be applied for following the end of service as only then will you be able to get the relevant application form. Applications will be accepted from 27 December 2022, 15:00 JST until 25 February 2023, 23:59 JST.

At the very least, the end of service does not spell the complete end of the game thanks to the “memorial app”. Six years is quite a lengthy time for a live service game, and fortunately, it gets to end its story on its own terms, for better or worse.
