Gaming industry giant Koei Tecmo Holdings has announced significant changes to its executive leadership, with Hisashi Koinuma set to become the company’s new President and CEO, effective April 1, 2025. The announcement comes as part of a broader restructuring of the company’s corporate governance.
Koinuma, who has been with the company since 1994, brings substantial experience to the role. He previously served as the chief operating officer of Koei Tecmo Games in 2015 before becoming the representative director and executive vice president of Koei Tecmo Holdings in 2018.

As part of the leadership transition, current President and CEO Yoichi Erikawa (also known as Kou Shibusawa) will move to the position of representative director and chairman. Keiko Erikawa will transition from her role as representative director and chairman to director and chairman emeritus.
The restructuring introduces a clear separation between business execution and management supervision, with the President position designated as the highest officer responsible for business execution, while the Chairman will oversee management supervision and chair the board of directors.

Additionally, Koei Tecmo announced the establishment of a new subsidiary, Koei Tecmo Corporate Finance, which will manage the group’s investment functions through an absorption-type split from Koei Tecmo Games. This move is designed to strengthen investment governance and optimize cash management across the organization.
