Gameseed 2025 marks the third year of the Gameseed program, continuing its mission to nurture new talents and strengthen Indonesia’s national game industry ecosystem. Since its debut in 2023, the program has become a key platform for aspiring developers to learn, grow, and connect with major players in the industry.

Building the Future of Indonesian Game Development

The Gameseed initiative is more than just a training program — it’s a full journey designed to equip participants with real industry experience. Through a structured lineup of activities including Roadshow, Matriculation, Game Jam, Curation, Incubation, and Final Pitching, participants gain both creative and technical exposure in game development.

This year, both the Matriculation and Final Pitching sessions were broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Indonesian Game Association (AGI), giving the public and professionals a chance to follow each team’s progress throughout the program. The grand finale took place during IGDX 2025 Bali, where participants showcased their projects and pitched them to international publishers and industry experts.

Strong Support from Global and Local Partners

Gameseed 2025 wouldn’t have been possible without strong support from its sponsors and partners. Tencent returned as a sponsor for the second consecutive year (2024–2025), joined by Google, which supported the program in both 2023 and 2025. Nuon Digital Indonesia also came on board as an official sponsor this year, further strengthening the program’s industry backing.

In addition, Gameseed 2025 worked closely with top academic institutions across the country, including Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Primakara University in Bali, Binus University in Jakarta, and Politeknik Negeri Batam. Their involvement helped bridge the gap between education and industry, giving students a clearer path into game development careers.

A Nationwide Network of Game Development Communities

Another standout aspect of Gameseed 2025 is its community-driven foundation. The program is supported by a wide network of local game development communities across Indonesia — from major hubs like Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya to emerging scenes in cities like Palembang, Manado, and Balikpapan.

Groups such as Agate Academy, Gamedev Jakarta, Gamedev Bali, and many others have played a crucial role in mentoring participants, fostering collaboration, and keeping the indie scene vibrant nationwide.

Led by Alumni, Driven by Passion

Gameseed 2025 is led by passionate individuals who were once participants themselves. Program Lead Calvin Mona Sandehang, a Gameseed 2023 alumnus, oversees the program’s strategic direction, partnerships, and overall management. Working alongside him is Operational Lead Ken Ayu Galuh, a Gameseed 2024 alumna, who ensures smooth execution across all phases of the event.

Their leadership shows how Gameseed has grown into a self-sustaining ecosystem — one that continues to empower its own graduates to lead the next generation of developers.

Sharing Knowledge from Industry Veterans

Mentorship remains a core pillar of Gameseed. This year, Nanda from Gamecom Team — the developer behind Troublemaker — joined as a mentor and guest speaker during the Incubation Phase. He shared valuable insights on what it takes for Indonesian-made games to reach global audiences, inspiring participants to think beyond local success.

Now in its third year, Gameseed has proven itself to be more than just a program — it’s a movement. By combining education, community, and industry collaboration, it’s helping shape a stronger, more connected future for Indonesia’s gaming scene.
