The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has issued a rating for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, listing both PC and PlayStation 5 as supported platforms. This development adds credibility to rumors from 2022 about a potential remaster of Guerrilla Games’ acclaimed action-RPG.

While Sony has yet to make an official announcement, the ESRB rating suggests that the project is indeed in development. No release date has been provided at this time, leading to speculation about its potential launch window.

The original Horizon Zero Dawn, released in 2017 for PS4, is currently playable on PS5 through backwards compatibility. A PC version based on the PS4 release has been available since 2020. This remaster would likely bring graphical and performance enhancements to align with its 2022 sequel, Horizon Forbidden West.

Interestingly, the Complete Edition of Horizon Zero Dawn, which includes The Frozen Wilds DLC, was recently removed from the PlayStation Plus subscription service which fueled further speculation about the remaster’s upcoming release.

The inclusion of a PC version in the ESRB rating follows Sony’s recent trend of bringing its exclusives to the platform, as seen with titles like The Last of Us Part 1 and Marvel’s Spider-Man.
