Supergiant Games has officially confirmed that Hades 2 will exit early access and launch in full on September 25, 2025. The highly anticipated roguelike will arrive as a timed console exclusive for both the Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2, while PC players on Steam and the Epic Games Store will get the game on the same day.
A Big Moment For Supergiant
After months of speculation and steady updates, Supergiant announced that the game is ready for its 1.0 release. Fans expected a possible shadow drop, but instead the developer opted for a firm release date. Considering how much excitement has built up since early access began, this announcement marks one of the biggest milestones for the studio since the original Hades exploded in popularity.
New Trailer And Gameplay Details
Nintendo showcased Hades 2 during its latest Direct with a fresh cinematic trailer followed by gameplay. The action looked smooth and fast-paced, accompanied by an energetic soundtrack that matched the game’s intensity. On Switch 2, Hades 2 will run at 1080p and up to 120fps when docked, with handheld mode delivering 1080p at 60fps. Supergiant also confirmed that the original Nintendo Switch version will maintain 60fps, ensuring a stable experience across all consoles.
Cross-Saves And Physical Release
In addition to performance details, Supergiant revealed that the game will support cross-saves across PC, Switch, and Switch 2. This means players can move their progress seamlessly between platforms. For collectors, a physical edition will release on November 20, giving fans the chance to own the game in a boxed format.
Timed Exclusivity For Consoles
Although Nintendo platforms get the game first, Supergiant made it clear that Hades 2 will eventually launch on PlayStation and Xbox. The Nintendo Direct listed the game as a timed exclusive, similar to how the first Hades debuted on Switch before reaching other consoles nearly a year later. Players on PS5 and Xbox may face a similar wait this time, but history shows the ports will eventually arrive.
Looking Toward September 25
The wait is nearly over. With its refined combat, expanded mythological world, and protagonist Melinoë leading the charge, Hades 2 looks ready to build on everything that made the original game a critical and commercial hit. September 25 is shaping up to be one of the biggest dates of the year for roguelike fans, and the Switch 2 already has one of its most impressive console exclusives lined up.
