Warner Bros. Games and HBO have officially revealed a new mobile game set in the Game of Thrones universe. Titled Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, this free-to-play strategy game will be available on iOS and Android devices, offering fans a chance to engage in tactical battles and dragon-powered warfare.
Set in the House of the Dragon Era

Although it carries the broader Game of Thrones brand, Dragonfire is primarily inspired by the prequel series House of the Dragon. This show, which debuted in 2022, takes place roughly 200 years before the events of the original series, chronicling the Targaryen civil war known as “The Dance of Dragons.” While the prequel hasn’t reached the same cultural prominence as Game of Thrones, it has earned critical praise and garnered nominations for nearly 50 awards, including Golden Globes and Primetime Emmys.
Gameplay and Features

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire promises a modern, approachable social strategy experience. Players will construct strongholds on a tile-based map, gather resources, and upgrade both their bases and military forces. In addition to meeting familiar characters from the prequel, players will take on the role of a Valyrian descendant, hatching and raising their own dragons. Alliances with original characters and real-world players will be crucial for territorial expansion and strategic battles.
Developer Background

The game is developed by WB Games Boston, formerly known as Turbine Inc., a studio with a long history of MMORPG and strategy games. Their portfolio includes Asheron’s Call, Dungeons & Dragons Online, The Lord of the Rings Online, and Infinite Crisis. The studio previously developed Game of Thrones: Conquest, another free-to-play mobile strategy title, demonstrating their familiarity with the fantasy world and strategy gameplay.
Pre-Registration and Rewards

While the official release date has yet to be announced, fans can pre-register for Dragonfire via the App Store, Google Play, or the game’s official website. Pre-registration grants immediate rewards such as 100 Gold. Milestone-based incentives include additional Banner Maker Sigils, Runic Fragments, new avatars, and a special Dawnseeker dragon if enough players sign up. These rewards aim to encourage community participation before the launch.
Game of Thrones: Dragonfire aims to combine strategic gameplay, social interaction, and dragons in a way that appeals to both longtime fans of the franchise and newcomers. Pre-register now to ensure early access and exclusive in-game content.
