Square Enix has released the version 1.5.0 “Enhanced” update for FINAL FANTASY TACTICS – The Ivalice Chronicles, bringing a handful of new features, quality-of-life adjustments, new settings, and expanded language support to the game.
The biggest addition in this update is New Game+, which lets players start a fresh run while carrying over unit levels, item data, and more from a finished playthrough. Alongside that, a Zodiac Compatibility function has been added, allowing players to check a unit’s zodiac sign and its compatibility with others directly from the status screen.

On the quality-of-life side, several small but useful changes have been made. Players can now check a unit’s status while hovering over tiles during movement or ability targeting. A “Remove All Equipment” option has also been added to the Equipment & Abilities section of the unit status screen. Job unlock conditions are now shown more clearly for locked jobs, and the camera angle and zoom settings during battle will now stay consistent for the full duration of each fight.
The update also introduces three new gameplay settings. “Maintain Auto-proceed” keeps cutscenes moving without manual input, “Ability Incantations Guaranteed” ensures that the voiced dialogue tied to certain abilities always plays, and “Ability Cursor Memory” saves the cursor position in the Abilities section of the battle menu. All three can be toggled through the Options tab in the main menu, under Settings and then Gameplay.

This update also expands language support, with Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean now available as text options in the Enhanced version. Players can switch between them through the General Settings menu under the Language tab, using the “Text Language (Enhanced)” option.
Rounding out the update are minor text corrections across all supported languages, some sound effect adjustments, general stability improvements, and other small bug fixes. FINAL FANTASY TACTICS – The Ivalice Chronicles is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
