ManaGames has announced Farnia Village, a fantasy lifestyle simulation and action RPG directed by Rune Factory 4’s Shinichi Manabe. The game fulfills every player’s dream of “continuing to live in the world even after completing the story.” It is currently in development for PC via Steam and DLsite.
A Life That Goes Beyond the Ending
In Farnia Village, players awaken in a peaceful town with no memories except their name. You begin your new life with a small home and a borrowed field. From there, you can farm, fish, cook, forge, and fall in love. Along the way, you’ll also teach a mysterious girl what it means to “enjoy” a meal.
Unlike most RPGs that end once the credits roll, Farnia Village allows you to keep living afterwards. You can continue farming, building friendships, and exploring the world which then creates a life that grows richer long after the main story ends.
Farm, Forge, and Explore a Living World
Farming in Farnia Village is simple to learn but full of depth. You can grow crops to sell, cook, gift, or use as materials for crafting and blacksmithing. You can even befriend monsters to help with daily chores or use whimsical gadgets like floating magic sprinklers to make your farm thrive.
Beyond the fields, adventure awaits. Explore seasonal dungeons, ever-changing ruins, and the Dark Queen’s castle. You can team up with villagers or tamed monsters, pack bento boxes for the road, and battle formidable enemies with unique abilities.
From the Director of Rune Factory 4
Farnia Village is directed by Shinichi Manabe, the former main programmer of Rune Factory 3 and director of Rune Factory 4. He is joined by the scenario writer from both titles, promising a world full of charm, warmth, and heartfelt storytelling.
Since the project is small in scale, Manabe and his team handle much of the work themselves. They admit development will take time, but their goal is to create a polished and emotionally rich experience.
The game is now live on Kickstarter, with rewards such as early access for a 2,000 yen pledge. Farnia Village is optimized for hardware comparable to the Nintendo Switch, ensuring smooth play even on laptops. ManaGames also hopes to bring it to consoles in the future.
