After the newest trailer about the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet games, a glimpse of the mysterious knight-looking Pokemon was shown and Pokemon fans were quick to make the comparison between the two with Megaman.
During the trailer, there wasn’t much information about the duo Pokemon other than the fact that one was blades for hands while the other than turn its hand into a cannon. It was until later that we got more information about the two from the official Pokemon website where the blue one is called Ceruledge while the yellow one is named Armoured.
The reveal of Ceruledge and Armoured was met with excitement and hype within the Pokemon community where fans were loving the cool and unique concepts that has never been seen in any previous Pokemon games. The enthusiasms were backed up with mountains of fanart which have admittedly filled up my personal Twitter feed.
Other Pokemon Fans were also quick to jump on the meme bandwagon where they compared the two knight Pokemon to the different forms that Megaman has, particularly the one where he has the Mega Buster arm cannon and the Cyber Sword. Some fans were also creative enough to edit the two Pokemon into various of edits of the Megaman games:
This isn’t the first time where fans had compared the new Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet where previously, the games version exclusive legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon were compared to Yu-Gi-Oh 5D’s bikes.
For those who are unfamiliar with the two new Pokemon, here’s some brief information about what we know of:
Armoured
Armarouge’s set of armor belonged to a distinguished warrior, and is the source of the energy used for its Psychic-type moves. It also uses the psychic capabilities of this armor to control the fire energy within its body and unleash attacks.
Armarouge believes in a fair fight and will challenge an opponent head-on no matter how much stronger that opponent is. It specializes in using its sturdy armor to bolster its defenses and take down enemies with its high firepower.
Ceruledge
Ceruledge dons an old set of armor steeped in grudges and wields blades made of fire and ghost energy. In battle, these blades transform into great swords to increase Ceruledge’s power. Cuts from these great swords leave wounds from which life energy will flow.
Ceruledge prefers close-quarters combat and isn’t above using tactics such as sneak attacks and surprise attacks to win a battle. It uses its quick movements to capitalize on its opponent’s blind spots, then closes the distance to slash its opponent with its large blades.
