Spike Chunsoft has confirmed plans to delist Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky in Japan. As announced, the publisher will remove the digital version of the tri-Ace-developed RPG from sale on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in early 2026. Consequently, this move marks the end of the game’s production lifecycle in the region.

Delisting Dates Set for PS4 and PS Vita
First, Spike Chunsoft will delist the PS4 digital version on January 1, 2026 at 00:00 JST. In MYT, this corresponds to December 31, 2025 at 11:00 PM. Next, the company will remove the PS Vita digital version on January 5, 2026 at 00:00 JST. Likewise, this converts to January 4, 2026 at 11:00 PM MYT.

Additionally, the delisting includes both the base game and all downloadable content. After these deadlines, players can no longer purchase the title digitally on the Japanese PlayStation Store.
Physical Production Will Also End

Alongside the digital delisting, Spike Chunsoft will end new production of the physical edition. However, retailers may continue selling existing stock for now. As a result, Exist Archive will become harder to obtain in Japan after early January 2026.
Revisiting Exist Archive’s Release History
Originally, tri-Ace launched Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky in Japan on December 17, 2015 (December 17, 2015 MYT). At launch, the game released on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. Later, the RPG received a global release on October 18, 2016 (October 18, 2016 MYT).

Consequently, international players gained access to the title. Moreover, tri-Ace, known for the Star Ocean series, developed the game. The studio combined side-scrolling exploration with party-based combat.
Story Premise and Gameplay Focus

In the story, Kanata and others carry fragments of the dark god Yamatoga’s soul. Soon after, unknown forces transport them to the world of Protolexa. Meanwhile, players battle hostile creatures and the armies of Chasseur. Over time, they search for missing teammates and complete quests. Ultimately, they uncover the truth behind their fate.
Western Release Status Remains Unclear

So far, Aksys Games has not announced plans to delist the game outside Japan. Therefore, the title’s future availability in other regions remains uncertain. For now, interested players may want to secure a copy. Ultimately, the game will disappear from Japanese digital stores in early 2026.
