Pearl Abyss has revealed the full system requirements and performance targets for its upcoming open-world action RPG, Crimson Desert. The detailed specifications outline how the game will run across multiple platforms including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Mac, and handheld devices such as the ROG Xbox Ally.
With the game set to launch on March 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac, the newly released specifications give players a clearer idea of the hardware needed to explore the vast fantasy world of Pywel.

PC Requirements and Performance Targets

On PC, Crimson Desert will require at least 16 GB of RAM and 150 GB of storage on an SSD, alongside Windows 10 64-bit version 22H2 or newer. The minimum configuration includes an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5-8500 paired with an AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. At this level, the game targets upscaled 1080p resolution from 900p at 30 frames per second.
Players aiming for smoother gameplay can look toward the recommended specifications, which feature an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-11600K along with an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080. This configuration targets 1080p at 60 frames per second or 4K at 30 frames per second.
Higher-end systems will unlock even better performance. The “High” preset targets 1440p at 60 frames per second using hardware such as the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X or Intel Core i5-12600K alongside GPUs like the Radeon RX 7700 XT or GeForce RTX 4070. Meanwhile, the “Ultra” preset aims for 4K at 60 frames per second with powerful components such as the Radeon RX 9070 or GeForce RTX 5070 Ti.
Console Performance Modes

Players on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will have access to multiple graphical modes designed to balance resolution and performance.
Performance Mode prioritizes smoother gameplay with a target of 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution, while Balanced Mode targets 40 frames per second using upscaled 4K resolution with AMD’s FSR 3 technology. Quality Mode focuses on visual fidelity with upscaled 4K from 1440p while targeting 30 frames per second and higher ray tracing quality.
The enhanced PlayStation 5 Pro offers even stronger visual output, with upgraded PSSR upscaling and ray tracing levels reaching “Ultra” in Quality Mode while maintaining similar performance targets.
Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S will run the game at 720p in Performance Mode targeting 40 frames per second, or 1080p at 30 frames per second in Quality Mode.
Handheld and ROG Xbox Ally Support

Crimson Desert will also be playable on handheld devices such as the ROG Xbox Ally lineup. The standard ROG Xbox Ally targets 720p resolution with FSR 3 Frame Generation and a 40 frames per second target.
The more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X supports multiple options including a Performance Mode targeting 60 frames per second at upscaled 1080p, a Balanced Mode at 40 frames per second, and a Quality Mode at native 1080p with a 30 frames per second target. Like other versions of the game, handheld players will need approximately 150 GB of storage.
Mac Version and Apple Silicon Support

Pearl Abyss also confirmed support for macOS systems using Apple Silicon chips. The game will run on macOS 15 or later using MetalFX upscaling technology.
Minimum requirements include systems with an Apple M2 Pro chip, while higher graphical settings will benefit from more powerful chips such as the M3 Pro, M4 Pro, and M5. At the highest settings, systems equipped with chips like the M3 Ultra or M4 Max can target up to 4K resolution with frame rates reaching 40 frames per second or even 60 frames per second when frame interpolation is enabled on newer macOS versions.
Across all Mac configurations, players will still need 16 GB of RAM and 150 GB of available storage.
An Open-World Adventure in the Continent of Pywel

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure RPG set in the sprawling continent of Pywel. Players take on the role of Kliff, a warrior from the Greymane mercenary group who sets out to rebuild his scattered comrades after a devastating ambush by their enemies, the Black Bears.
The journey takes players across diverse regions including deserts, mountains, ruins, and bustling towns. Exploration is a major focus, with players able to ride various mounts such as horses, wolves, and even dragons while discovering hidden areas and mysterious realms like the Abyss.
Combat emphasizes fast-paced action and player choice, allowing players to combine weapons such as swords, spears, and bows with powerful abilities and elemental enhancements to overcome dangerous enemies and large-scale battles.
Launch Date and Editions

Crimson Desert is scheduled to launch on March 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac. Pre-orders are currently available, including a Digital Deluxe Edition that features exclusive armor sets, equipment, and mount customization items.
With its ambitious open world, cinematic combat, and deep technical support across multiple platforms, Crimson Desert is shaping up to be one of the most technically demanding and visually impressive RPG releases of the year.
