ASUS Malaysia has announced the availability of the brand-new ASUS Vivobook S series laptops for the year 2024.

Designed for a sleek and lightweight lifestyle, the new series by ASUS comprises of the 14-inch ASUS Vivobook S14 OLED (S5406) and the 16-inch ASUS Vivobook S16 OLED (S5606).

The new Intel Evo-verified laptops now return with an even lighter stature, with an all-metal chassis that starts at 1.39cm thin and weighs as little as 1.3kg.

Performance-wise, the laptops are fitted with up to the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, Intel Arc™ graphics, up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X 7467 GHz RAM, and 1TB of speedy PCIe®4.0 SSD.

The ASUS IceCool cooling system now also uses two improved heat pipes, two 97-blade IceBlade fans, and two air vents, allowing the laptops to achieve a maximum Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 50 W.

Furthermore, the ASUS Vivobook S series also features the ASUS Memory Allocation Management function, allowing users to customize memory capacity to iGPU freely.

Visuals

Both laptops are equipped with 16:10 displays. with the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED (S5406) featuring a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) OLED panel, while the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED (S5606) is fitted with a 3.2K (3200 x 2000) 120Hz OLED display.

Both displays offer a DCI-P3 color gamut and carry up to the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification, it is also recognized for its eye-care features by TÜV Rheinland.

The new ASUS features the new ASUS ErgoSense single-zone RGB-backlit keyboard. The full-size keyboard has a 19.05 mm key pitch, a 0.2 mm keycap dish, and a 1.7 mm key travel.

It also comes with Windows Dynamic Lighting, in which users can customize lighting color and effects right in the Windows settings.

An enlarged ErgoSense touchpad is also fitted to help deliver an improved user experience.

User Experience Features

ASUS Vivobook S series laptops all have a dedicated Copilot key to access the Copilot app easily, allowing users to utilize Windows 11’s AI-powered apps with a single press.

A bevy of I/O ports is also available to fit the user’s need, namely having two Thunderbolt™ 4 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, an HDMI® 2.1 (TMDS) port, a MicroSD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Alongside this, the laptop is also equipped with a 180° lay-flat hinge to allow for more flexibility during collaboration with other people.

In terms of visuals and audio, both laptops are fitted with an ASUS AiSense camera, AI noise cancelation technology, and a Harman Kardon-certified speaker system that delivers Dolby Atmos® multi-dimensional audio.

In addition to these. the laptops undergo rigorous testing to meet the military-grade MIL-STD 810H durability standard.

Availability and Pricing

Both models of the laptops will be available starting 29th April 2024.

The price for the ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED starts from RM4,399, while the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED starts from RM 4,699. Both laptops come with 2 color options, Mist Blue and Black.

As part of the early bird campaign, each purchase of the ASUS Vivobook S series laptops will come with a complimentary SONY SRS-XB100 Portable Wireless Speaker (worth RM259). Furthermore, customers can submit constructive reviews via the ASUS Your Voice Matters program to earn more
rewards including ASUS Premium Care or Shopee vouchers, worth up to RM99.

Lastly, ASUS Malaysia has also stated that the ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED will have a variant featuring 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of storage later this quarter.
