Japan-based game developer ForwardWorks has just opened the servers for Arc The Lad R, now available for play on Android and iOS platforms.
Arc The Lad R serves as a direct sequel and continues where the original series left off. Tsuchida Toshiro, the producer of Arc the Lad 1 and 2 takes on the mantle again, alongside other staff from the original series. As such, fans of the franchise should be fairly assured that its sanctity is preserved at least at the surface level.
In any case, the mobile adaptation boasts a strategic combat system that is par for the course for RPGs on this platform. Players will have to use their tactical prowess to move units on a grid and execute commands accordingly. Mastery here of course understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your squad. While rarity of units vary, all of them can be trained to the highest rarity, so there are no real throwaway units per se.
