VisualArts has announced that anemoi, the upcoming visual novel from Key, will now release in a two-disc physical package when it launches on April 24, 2026. According to Famitsu, the reason behind the change is that improvements to the game’s visual direction and overall presentation pushed the project’s file size up significantly. To fit everything in, the physical release had to be expanded from a single disc to two.
Players who pick up the physical copy will also need at least 18GB of free storage space on their device to install the game. For those who would rather skip the discs entirely, the package will include a download card as an alternative installation option.

anemoi is a brand new title from Key, the studio behind some of the most well-known emotional visual novels in the genre. Their past works include Clannad, Little Busters!, Kanon, Air, and Rewrite, among others. The story follows Hayakawa Mugi, who moves to a quiet town called Masumi together with his younger sister Rikka. The setting is meant to be a calm, relaxed place where the two can spend some quality time together. Along the way, Mugi will also get to know some of the girls living in town.
An English release of anemoi through Steam has also been previously confirmed, though a specific date for that version has not been announced.
