Before the Silent Hill 2 Remake in 2024, the series was virtually in cryosleep, with its last fully-fledged game being Silent Hill: Book of Memories for the PS Vita in 2012. Now, it seems like Konami is ready to fully commit to the iconic survival horror series, with the series producer Motoi Okamoto stating, “Our aim is to, hopefully, have an annual release of new games.”
The interview was held at gamescom 2026, where Okamoto sat down with Gamesradar to talk about the upcoming Silent Hill Townfall. He stated that the annual release goal for the franchise will motivate the devs to keep expanding its locale.

For the longest time, the series was bound to the fictional version of Maine in the US, only veering away from it in the recent Silent Hill F. Okamoto stated, “If we stay laser-focused on the same American setting, that would exhaust [narrative] possibilities, and also potentially cause fatigue for the player base.”
For instance, the franchise’s next major release, Silent Hill: Townfall, which is scheduled to launch on September 24, takes the series to a fictional Scottish island. Furthermore, it marks Silent Hill’s debut in the first-person horror genre.
Okamoto proceeded to reassure players that the studio is currently sitting on numerous unannounced projects. “We would like to let players know that we have more experiences coming up, and many types of games that we believe will be able to provide positive kinds of surprises for players waiting for this series.”
With multiple projects in the pipeline, whether they be spin-offs, remakes, or new installments, Silent Hill seems to be in a much healthier state compared to a couple of years ago.
