Capcom has announced that the next DLC character Alex arrives in Street Fighter 6 on March 17,. The wrestler will bring new techniques and moves to the game, with professional wrestling star Kenny Omega providing motion capture for some of Alex’s signature attacks.
Alex first appeared as the main character in Street Fighter III: New Generation back in 1997. Known for his aggressive fighting style, he’s earned the nickname “The Man with No Allies” in the ring. For his Street Fighter 6 appearance, Alex comes with a new stance, over 10 different throws, and moves that flow smoothly into each other.
As a pro wrestler, Alex has over 10 throws in his arsenal!

The character’s wrestling-based toolkit includes several key attacks:
Flash Axe is a quick strike with light and medium versions. The light version works well to finish combos, while the medium version can shift into Prowler Stance when it connects. Flash Chop is a heavy attack that opens up opponents for follow-up grabs like Power Bomb or Oblique Stomp when it lands. The overdrive version also lets Alex enter Prowler Stance on hit.
Aerial Knee Smash serves as an anti-air move, with Alex jumping up and driving opponents into the ground with his knee. Power Bomb, Alex’s well-known move, comes in light, medium, and heavy versions that all deal the same damage but offer different tactical advantages.

Prowler Stance is a unique position where Alex can’t block but gains 11 different follow-up options. Landing certain moves like Sweep Combination, Hyper Takedown, or Dangerous Armbar on a Punish Counter will transition into Flying Suplex, Death Valley Bomb, and Spiral DDT.
Alex has multiple Super Art moves at different levels. Raging Spear (Level 1) is an invincible rushing tackle that works in combos. Sledgecross Hammer (Level 2) delivers a powerful lariat that can bounce airborne opponents off walls and has some protection against projectiles.

Omega Wing Buster is another Level 2 Super Art that follows a successful overdrive Power Drop. Wrestling star Kenny Omega performed the motion capture for this particular move. The Final Prison (Level 3) features four different animations depending on whether it’s used normally or as a Critical Art, and whether it results in a knockout. The move shows Alex finishing opponents with a series of grappling techniques.

Players who own the Year 3 Character Pass or Year 3 Ultimate Pass will get Alex on March 17. The character comes with two outfits: Outfit 1 shows his “Dark Devil” wrestling persona, while Outfit 2 reflects his classic Street Fighter III appearance. Alex’s theme song “GO! ALEX! Hope is Born!” is composed by JAM Project and can be heard in the gameplay trailer. The full version will be released later. Alex is the third character in Year 3’s roster, following Sagat and C. Viper. Ingrid is scheduled to join in late spring 2025 to complete the Year 3 lineup. Street Fighter 6 is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and PC through Steam.
