The hit spy comedy manga series Spy x Family will be getting an anime adaptation! The new anime will premier in 2022.

The manga by Tatsuya Endo and published by Shounen Jump+ began in 2019. It revolves around a spy named Twilight who must create a false family to infiltrate a school and get close to a suspected terrorist. To do this he recruits a woman, who’s secretly an assassin, to be his wife and a girl, who’s secretly a psychic, to be his daughter. Despite claiming that this is all for the mission it quickly becomes apparent that the three are becoming closer than they first imagined with many family shenanigans along the way.

The Spy x Family anime has quite a high pedigree, being a co-production between Wit Studio, who has previously worked on the popular Attack on Titan and critically acclaimed Vinland Saga, and Cloverworks Studios who have worked on the well-received Promised Neverland (ignore season 2) and Horimiya.

Cloverworks will also be working on the upcoming My Dress-Up Darling anime adaptation.

From the trailer, we can already see the high-quality animation that both studios are known for so it seems the series will be in safe hands.
