Capcom has published the PC specs for Monster Hunter Rise , which should make anyone struggling to get a cutting edge gaming PC happy.

They released the specs as part of the newly launched Steam page for the game, ahead of its free demo on October 13th, as well as its release date on 12th January 2022.

Here are the requirements to run the game, which originally launched on the Nintendo Switch:

• Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-4130 or Core™ i5-3470 or AMD FX™-6100
• Memory: 8 GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 1030 (DDR4) or AMD Radeon™ RX 550
• DirectX: Version 12
• Network: Broadband Internet connection
• Storage: 23 GB available space
• Additional Notes: 1080p/30fps when graphics settings are set to “Low”. System requirements subject to change during game development.

As you can see, Monster Hunter Rise’s minimum specs seem to be pretty easy on most processors, using an Intel Core i3-4130 or Core i5-3470. Alternatively, those with AMD chips can use an FX-6100.

You’ll also be able to run it with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030/ AMD Radeon RX 550,  which shouldn’t be too hard to acquire even if you have an old laptop from several years back.

That being said the GPU requirements do mean you will need some sort of purpose-built laptop, since it probably won’t run on internal graphics. The 8GB RAM also means that a lot of regular everyday-use notebooks won’t be able to run it.

Do note that on the lowest settings it looks like you’ll pretty much be running the Switch version of the game, since it’ll be locked to 30fps and 1080p.

Similarly, the upper end of the spectrum for Monster Hunter Rise on PC seems to not be particularly taxing, either. Aside from the higher GPU and CPU requirement, a lot of the other specs are largely the same, making for a great game that’s hopefully well optimized for lower-end machines.

It looks like you’ll need to be running the higher end to user the more impressive game features, such as 4K support, UltraWide display and higher framerate, though aside from the framerate the others are yet to be confirmed.
