This week on The Brave Room, the Wan Wish Fulfilment Arc continues as Kit decides to talk to Wan about her time getting into Vtubers.

No, this isn’t a creepy fan-episode, for once our two hosts actually keep it together long enough to talk about a lot of what goes on in the head of a vtuber fan- such as how it’s not that different from regular streaming fans- it’s just instead of a bald ginger man with OCD it’s a cute anime girl.

Wan regales his story of how he first fell into the rabbit hole, starting with a lady knight, a Bristol flat and Vordt’s Great Hammer, as well as how much harder it is to get in as a male Vtuber just because of how stacked the deck is against you.

One clarification: Wan accidentally describes Pikamee as being from Nijisanji, when she’s actually from VOMS. Please stop messaging us about it.

Naturally, Wan takes the opportunity to also dispel some myths that it’s all about the anime girls too- Wan uses the Hololy app on the regular, but ultimately a virtual cutout of Choco-sensei means nothing if she’s not actually there doing her Choco-sen things.,

Of course, there’s no discussion about the Vtuber explosion without mentioning one Kiryu Coco- who literally broke barriers on the kind of images Vtubers could have, as well as bridging the gap between EN and JP communities before graduating (read: retiring) a few months ago.
