The galaxy is a big and dangerous place in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy as another villain will be entering the fray, the enigmatic dark priest ‘The Grand Unifier Raker’.

The Grand Unifier Raker is a mad space priest with robotic arms. He claims to have no malicious intentions to the Guardians but wishes to introduce them to a- being called, ‘The Matriarch’. Something tells me he’s not quite as peaceful as he claims.

Within the comics, The Grand Unifier Raker is just known as ‘Raker‘ and is a high-ranking cardinal of the Universal Church of Truth. These cardinals are not only priests but also act as knights templars, attacking those that are deemed enemies of the church. The Matriarch herself is another higher-ranking member of the church but she herself is on the right-hand woman to the groups’ true leader, Magus.

Magus is supposed to be an evil future version of Adam Warlock, a long-time member of the Guardians of Galaxy in the comics but has yet to be introduced to the movies or this game. Perhaps this is hinting that Adam will be a secret character that appears later but only time will tell.

Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy seems to take the chance to introduce a number of more obscure comic book characters to a wider audience. There was also a recent trailer that saw the character Lady Hellbender appear.
