The Brave Room Episode 26- You Don’t Pay My Sub

This week on The Brave Room, the gang talk about subscription services- all the new hotness, making money every month even if only 5 people buy into it. Obviously, this is a very nuanced subject- services like Netflix have a revolving door of content, so paying the monthly sub makes way more sense.

But do Animation programs need subscriptions? What about other creative software?

Naturally, there’s also the problem of the sheer volume of them. What originally started as a neat way to watch everything without needing to sub to 100 cable channels has quickly become a crowded field, with every major service deciding they’re better off holding their own, leading to things like the full Evangelion experience being spread out over different services.

Kit also brings up her own point, mocking the downright terrible release strategy for Disney Plus, which had a Stadia-like rollout to the SEA region so late most of its marquee shows are practically old news already. Not to be outdone, Wan counters with Warhammer+, a somehow even worse streaming service. Yeah, it’s one of those again.
