Nintendo has shown off more gameplay for Breath of The WIld 2, the unofficial title of the sequel to the Nintendo Switch’s popular launch title, at E3.

A lot of the core design principles of Breath of the Wild look to be in place, with Link being able to interact with the world in a variety of ways. Features like the timestop and hang glider seem to have returned, along with new features like turning into a water droplet to phase through certain structures.

Structurally, the game looks very similar to Breath of the Wild, although that seems by design. It looks to share most of the same assets, similar to how Majora’s Mask did back when it first launched.

Sadly, Breath of the Wild 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, though Nintendo did confirm they’ll get the game out some time in 2022.

The game’s trailer reveal was a really well telegraphed sequence, going from the Kazuya reveal in Smash referencing the first teaser for the game with a dilapidated Ganondorf before revealing the new Smash character. Similarly, the hosts made multiple mentions of Nintendo Switch titles fans were really looking forward to, such as with the Metroid Dread reveal in lieu of Metroid Prime news, before a fake out with the Hyrule Warriors expansion before this trailer.
