Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Plot Discovered Online

Sharp-eye netizens have found at least one version of the plot for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the sequel to the Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

Twitter user Ninja_Risu was taking a stroll through Sega’s copyrights and found the summary for the plot of Sonic The Hedgehog 2. Here is the summary in its entirety:

After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is ready for more freedom, and Tom and Maddie agree to leave him home while they go on vacation. But, no sooner are they gone, when Dr. Robotnik comes back, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to both build and destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands. Being directed by Jeff Fowler, and starring Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Ben Schwartz.

From the summary it looks like the movie will also be introducing Knuckles, another iconic Sonic character on top of Tails, who was teased at the end of the first movie. While having Knuckles in a seemingly antagonistic role might seem weird, considering the Echidna tribe was portrayed in an antagonistic light at the start of the first movie it’s not entirely inconsistent that Knuckles would start off on the wrong foot with Sonic either.

The plot also does seem consistent with on-set photos that were spread online recently, which also confirmed Knuckles’ involvement with the Sonic movie sequel.

That being said, the finer details of the plot should be taken with a grain of salt, since plot details can always change during the production process. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will release on April 8th, 2022.
