Kaiju On The Earth LEGENDS is a new upcoming spinoff of Kaiju On The Earth, which will feature multiple different kaiju across the subculture’s storied history, kicking off with Godzilla.

In an announcement, the game’s developers, Arclight, announced that Kaiju on the Earth LEGENDS would differ from base Kaiju On The Earth by featuring licensed characters, such as its premiere one with Godzilla.

For the Godzilla game, multiple human players would have to face off against the King of Monsters, with one player controlling Godzilla as you carve a path of destruction through Tokyo. The human players would not necessarily have to defeat Godzilla, though they would have to do things like securing evacuation routes and the like.

The Godzilla game is expected to release between Winter 2021 and Spring 2022. Arclight haven’t mentioned which Kaiju would make up future releases of the game.

Kaiju On The Earth has had two previous releases in the past, with their own kaiju Volcarus and Leviath getting their own games. Arclight describes the first of the LEGENDS series to play similarly to Volcarus, but with some tweaks for gameplay experiences. The series is also getting its third release, featuring the original kaiju Yggdrasus, who is a giant tree. Yggdrasus will release in June of this year, with Arclight describing it as one of the heaviest releases in the series so far.
