Legend of Mana Remastered Announced For Nintendo Switch

Legend of Mana Remastered has been announced for the Nintendo Switch, as part of the 50-minute Nintendo Direct today.

Originally released on the Playstation back in the 90s, the follow up to Trials of Mana makes its return to consoles on 24th June, 2021.

The remaster will feature all the same music from the original game, along with rearranged tracks that you can freely switch between. Naturally, it retains the same pixel-art style, though with the resolution upgraded for modern screens.

Gameplay wise, it retains the same gameplay from Legend of Mana, giving you an empty World Map that you can fill by collecting Artifacts. You can place these down to create towns and other features for you to explore.

New features have also been added, such as the ability to adjust your encounter rate similar to modern JRPGs like Bravely Default, so you can speed through the story or sit and grind depending on your mood.

There’s also a new minigame, though they didn’t elaborate on the mechanics of how this minigame would work. At a glance though, it has a Tamagotchi-esque aesthetic to it, and will likely involve taking care of the even more pixellated creature as you play through Legend of Mana Remastered.
