After a long week of bad news and questionable information, Cyberpunk 2077 has been delisted from PSN. Additionally, Sony is now offering refunds to anyone who purchased a digital copy of the game.

In a tweet by the Ask Playstation Twitter account, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) issued a statement saying they would offer a “Full refund” for all digital copies of the game. At the time of reporting the link currently leads to a 404, though SIE have said they will work to get it up and running.

This comes after a hectic launch for Cyberpunk 2077, which launched on last-gen consoles despite the fact it ran into many bugs that lead many netizens to describe the game as unplayable.

The tension was only further escalated by the fact that CD Projekt Red, the game’s developer had willfully neglected to show any footage of the game running on these consoles in the game’s marketing, and only gave out PC codes to the media to review so no one could report on it before the game’s launch.

After the launch, CD Projekt Red put out a statement, in which they told customers they could request a refund for console versions through their respective digital storefronts. However, it’s been reported that no special system was in place, and therefore Playstation customers in particular were in danger of having their refund requests denied due to the lack of a clear refund policy from PlayStation and Sony.

There has obviously been some pressure on SIE to respond to the state of Cyberpunk, after CD Projekt Red mentioned that the platforms didn’t do their job in stopping the game from shipping with bugs because they believed it would be patched out by launch.

“In terms of the certification process and the third parties – this is definitely on our side. I can only assume that
they trusted that we’re going to fix things upon release, and that obviously did not come together exactly as we had planned”, said Michal Nowakowski, Board Member responsible for publishing at CD Projekt Red.

CD Projekt Red has promised fixes for Cyberpunk 2077, urging that past-gen versions of the game would be at a more acceptable standard by February.
