Following up on its 1.1 version update, miHoYo teased the second major update for Genshin Impact, scheduled for a release later in December 2020.

Going by the name “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon”, update 1.2 will include the game’s first map expansion in the form of Dragonspine. Furthermore, there will be new characters and a new seasonal event as well.

First on the map itself, the Dragonspine comprises a frozen mountain range inhabited by unique critters, with rare artifacts, four star weapon recipes and much more. For this update, users will see the addition of Ganyu and Albedo to the cast of five star characters for the upcoming “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon” event.

For a game of this scope, it is certainly pleasing to see the developer constantly churning out updates to keep it fresh for veterans and new Genshin Impact players alike. And to commemorate the occasion, users will be rewarded with free gems.
