The Neptunia franchise celebrates its 10th anniversary today, with the first title, Hyperdimension Neptunia, released for the Playstation 3 in Japan on 19 August 2010. The Neptunia 10th anniversary title was also revealed today, dubbed Go! Go! 5D Game: Neptune re★Verse.
Neptune re★Verse will be Compile Heart‘s first Playstation 5 title, with further details to come in September. Compile Heart’s President Norihisa Kochiwa had also revealed the existence of further projects being worked on, though presumably not all Neptunia related.
The franchise is known for designing the various consoles into cute anime girls, each having their distinctive features based off their console and the memes surrounding them. These girls are also goddesses even if they may not act like them, with slapstick humour and fourth-wall breaking generously mixed in with whatever plot and crisis they find themselves in.
