Granblue Fantasy: Versus is now available in North America, with the PC Steam version coming up 13 March, and 27 March for Europe and Australia. With the release, the first two characters of the first DLC character pack have also arrived, and the fifth yet to be revealed. We do have an idea of who it is though… read on! WHO IS HE?
One of the greater scope villains of Granblue Fantasy. He’s still got plenty of mystery surrounding him, but for now, his role in the main story is complete. Who knows where he will go next?
WHAT DOES HE DO IN THE MAIN GAME?
Basically terrorizing the main crew and did a lot of string pulling for many years. He’s not a pleasant guy, but is a pretty attractive villain to a lot of the fanbase, if that’s your thing.
STORY EVENTS HE’S INVOLVED IN
Received plenty of spotlight and plays an important part in the What Makes the Sky Blue anniversary event trilogy.
AVAILABILITY IN GRANBLUE FANTASY
Not playable, but perhaps you might be interested in someone who looks uncannily similar: Helel ben Shalem. Shalem herself is available as a Flash Gala limited SSR Dark character.
NARMAYA
WHO IS SHE?
Your doting big sister who carries quite a bit of an inferiority complex despite her obvious swordsmanship skill. She adores the captain a lot, finding some kind of purpose in caring for them. It takes a bit of character development for her to see her own worth, at last. She tends to be quite a fanservicey character as well. She has her own character song, “Houmatsu-mugen Kochoujin” with skin, and an anniversary skin.
WHAT DOES SHE DO IN THE MAIN GAME?
Her versions generally aim to deal a lot of damage, at the cost of debuffing herself. Her Valentine’s version is more gimmicky where she buffs and protects the main character exclusively. Her Earth version is capable of substituting for the entire party.
STORY EVENTS SHE’S INVOLVED IN
Despite being a fairly popular character, she is not presently involved in a specific spotlight story event.

SORIZ
WHO IS HE?
An old man who does two things: fisticuffs and being a dirty old man. Certainly very appreciative of women and their presence. He is in a trio of manly men which includes Eugen and Jin, with all three being incredibly muscled as well as of relatively advanced age when compared to the rest of the crew. As a trio, they have a character song in “Sanba Garasu Otoko Uta”.
WHAT DOES HE DO IN THE MAIN GAME?
He wants to buff himself and keep punching. A very easy character to understand. His SSR version also buffs himself and eats attacks/substitutes for any female party members.
STORY EVENTS HE’S INVOLVED IN
Has a event SR in the story event THE FREEZE. Has played a small part in A Thousand Reasons, but is otherwise not highly featured.

DJEETA
WHO IS SHE?
The female counterpart to Gran. Whatever he does, she can do too. Her name is taken from the “Fantasy” part of Granblue Fantasy, read backwards in Japanese. The anime has her as the guest protagonist in special extra episodes, which hilariously enough, seem to make her appear even more ridiculously strong compared to Gran who’s been shown to struggle in a variety of occasions. This becomes an in-joke within the fandom that Djeeta is the ultra hardcore GBF player and whales to the casual Gran.
Her backstory is the same as Gran’s.
WHAT DOES SHE DO IN THE MAIN GAME?
Same with Gran, she’s your stand-in. Certain characters and events do have changes depending on whether you’re playing Gran or Djeeta. It’s just a matter of preference.

While the fifth DLC character hasn’t been officially been revealed at time of writing, it seems that some Playstation Store listings have already accidentally leaked who it is. Without further ado, let’s take a look.
ZOOEY
WHO IS SHE?
She’s the arbiter of balance. Her task is to ensure the aforementioned balance of the world, taking down any foes that might threaten the delicate state of the skydom. Accompanied by her dragons, she generally watches from way high up, only swooping down as necessary. She has some secrets of her own, for sure. She has her own paid skin. Arrives late April 2020.
WHAT DOES SHE DO IN THE MAIN GAME?
She has multiple versions, her Dark SSR being one of the most infamous for enabling safe play of a “high risk” enmity strategy that involves lowering your HP to 1 for maximum damage potential. She can bring debuffs, or supports the party while dealing great damage.
STORY EVENTS SHE’S INVOLVED IN
She plays a major part in the story event Auld Lanxiety, where the balance of the world was in jeopardy.
