Some Malaysian users are apparently experiencing outage in regards to accessing Ubisoft’s Uplay launcher, Rockstar Games’ launcher and Epic Games Store launcher when using their unifi network. The unifi Twitter has noted it has received inquiries regarding access to the Ubisoft servers, and assures users it is currently looking into the issue together with Ubisoft. The account reiterates that access is not being restricted, and updates will be provided as soon as possible.

Some confusion had surfaced as there was a previous Tweet that had stated TM would block should games involve “inappropriate content” that includes violence, gambling, scams and so forth. unifi apologizes for any misunderstanding.

At present, I have been able to login to the Epic Games Store with no issue, so certain storefronts may somehow be restricted from user to user depending on their connection. In asking around, access to Uplay and Rockstar is still possible for some. Differing providers seem to be allowing access for certain unifi users, hence the grouses regarding provider.

For now, we’ll have to wait for confirmation and further information from unifi about the other storefronts. It doesn’t necessarily seem to be TM’s fault so we’d caution against readers to hasten to blame the provider. We’ll see when unifi issues a statement regarding Uplay, Rockstar and Epic Games.
