If you are a Huawei fan, you should be watching the live showcase of their upcoming product, HUAWEI MATE 30 and HUAWEI MATE 30 PRO. Personally I only have an experience piloting a HUAWEI P20, but let’s have a look on how the latest entry for Huawei is going to impress their fans.

Awhile ago they were banned from using Android’s operating system. So how much can Huawei actually do with their HarmonyOS, in which they had started to develop since 7 years ago? Read on for a recap of their live conference.

As rumored, Huawei also has 6 different type of colours that features a different feel on the back. The colours are in 3 different categories. First ones are Space Silver, Black and Cosmic Purple. These colors will only give you a sleek back surface. The Emerald Green will feature a gradient texture, from bottom to the top, from a matte touch to a sleek touch. The last 2 colours feature Vegan Leather design with 2 colors, Vegan Leather Forest Green and Vegan Leather Orange.

Other than the current announced designs, there will also be a Premium Porsche design of Mate 30 called Huawei Mate 30 RS. This version features a genuine leather back design and a stand for utility uses. This also act as the model with the highest capacity compared to the other versions.

In terms of specifications, there are a few highlights that Huawei make sure their competitors and US media is clear. In comparison of the chipset with and without 5G, the 5G installed chipset is faster compared to the non 5G. They also have new features that relates to their design of not having buttons at the side of their phone.

You can now take photos and adjusting volume levels in your Huawei Mate 30 series phones with the edge design. In camera mode, you can tap the edge of the screen like how you would use a professional camera. Adjusting the volume levels only need 2 taps at the edge of the phone and then, slide your finger up or down to adjust. Regardless if you are left or right handed, the functions can work normally as long as the pattern is correct.

This performance wouldn’t make do without a great screen. The Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro both features OLED screens but a Super High Resolution for the Pro version.

With the current trend of wireless charging, Huawei made a step up and introduced SuperCharge for their Huawei Mate 30 series devices. These devices will have faster charging speed compared to other brands such as Samsung.

With all these performance and graphic boosts, they also improved their photography potency significantly. In the conference, Richard continuously made comparisons between their Huawei Mate 30 Pro camera and actual professional camera/camera recording devices. He also showed the capability of their camera towards a darker environment doing better than Samsung’s latest entry, Samsung Note 10+.

Other than the camera and the screen giving a comfort to the eye, Huawei Mate 30 series will feature EMUI 10 and will have a dedicated Dark Mode for the entire UI.

With additional features for the main phone, there are other special features that Huawei Mate 30 series can do. Smart Gesture Control is a special control that does not require the touch of screen to scroll through your favorite apps. Multi-Screen collaboration can work with the Huawei Matebook. Huawei M-Pen will also be available with a whooping 4096 levels of pressure that is as close to drawing tablet pressure level. Syncing with a smart car can let your device function as a car key as well!

With all these cool functions, security comes to mind. Huawei Mate 30 series features Dual Biometric Authentication. In-screen Fingerprint and 3D Face Unlock will be their core highlights for security in addition to the traditional pin and password security. Huawei also has a Face recognition function that will display notification details show towards a registered face.

And finally the most important part, battery life. Compared to the latest entries from Samsung and iPhone, even on the Super Heavy Use profile, the battery can last up to 9.2 hours!

Just as all these cool thing comes to an end, Huawei announced their price for each models that will be surfacing the market.
