One of the well known PC games back then, Gunbound, was a staple game for all ages of gamers. It was revolutionary when it was released in 2006. The range of character selection that the game provided and the gameplay was very unique for a lot of Southeast Asia region gamers. Furthermore, the game was FREE! At that time, there was quite a huge fanbase for Gunbound. They had so much legacy that some games like “Dan Dan Tang” took inspiration from their success later on.

On the 1st September, Softnyx (developer for Gunbound) and Electronic Extreme (EXE) announced their collaboration on publishing a new title, New Gunbound, for mobile. At a press conference, they specifically highlighted that Thailand and 10 other Southeast Asia countries will be getting the release of New Gunbound.

With the announcement of New Gunbound, Softnyx targets to bring back the nostalgic fun and environment with the inclusive of new mobile features and systems. The developers are determined to cater their game towards their fans and possible newcomers in all mobile platforms. The collaboration of Softnyx and Extreme Entertainment is not limited to publishing. These 2 companies will both work together and exchange ideas and inspiration to further improve their gameplay.

In this New Gunbound, the promises that the companies made were as listed here:

• Remain as a shooting strategy game combined with RPG’s Style.
• Mobile will be the highlight of the game.
• 2 game modes
  • PvE
  • PVP
    • 2 modes
      • Classic Mode, a Turn-based Mode
      • Real Time Mode

Other than that, there was a mini tournament held at the same location featuring a 800 USD prize pool and new cosmetic items. EXE and Softnyx is expecting that the game will have a soft launch around the 4th quarter of 2019.
