Live-action Final Fantasy XIV television series announced

Rejoice Final Fantasy series’ fan, we have a good news for you! Square Enix has recently announced a partnership with Sony Pictures Television and Hivemind Entertainment to develop a live-action Final Fantasy XIV television series! Hivemind is also the production company for the upcoming Netflix adaptation of The Witcher.

Based on the world and characters of Final Fantasy XIV, the television series will feature an original story set in the fantastic world of Eorzea. The story will mainly focus on the struggle between magic and technology in a quest to bring peace to a land in conflict.

The title’s iconic hallmarks such as Chocobos, Airships, Magitek and Beastman will be making an appearance in the TV series. Of course, there will be some new faces too, not to mention the live-action debut of the fan-favourite Cid.
