During the recent GDC 2019, Google has finally announced Stadia (previously named as Project Stream), an all-new gaming platform powered by the best of Google. This new technology allows you to access games, even the high-end ones, from the cloud on any platforms using the Chrome browser.

Stadia eliminates the need to own a device with powerful specs in order to enjoy AAA games. You can access the game easily from YouTube if you see a “Play Now” notice at the end of a game trailer. The progress is shared across all your devices, you can play on one device then pick up the same progress seamlessly and instantly on another device.

According to Google, Stadia is supporting cross-platform play across all platforms including game saves. It can stream games in 4K at 60fps too. One of the first games announced for the service is Doom Eternal.

Aside from this, Google also introduces the new Stadia Controller that enables you to access the full Stadia experience. It connects to the game directly via Wi-Fi. In addition to the standard controller functions, it comes with 2 new buttons – a Capture button that shares your gameplay to YouTube, and a Google Assistant button that allows you to get help from the assistant for special in-game features via the controller’s built-in microphone.
