Hearthstone‘s latest single player mode of the Rastakhan’s Rumble expansion, Rumble Run, launched yesterday. In Rumble Run, players take on the role of Rikkar, a young troll eager to fight for glory in the Gurubashi Arena.

Hearthstone’s Rastakhan’s Rumble expansion launched last week. The expansion introduced 135 new cards as well as new mechanics into the game. At launch, Blizzard announced that Rumble Run will come one week after the expansion launched. As promised by Blizzard, the single player mode has arrived in Hearthstone.

Similar to previous single player modes like Monster Hunt, players will face opponents of increasing difficulty throughout their progress. As they progress, players will obtain new cards and powers to build a stronger deck. Rumble Run ends after the player beats all eight opponents.

Choose your Loa

As mentioned during the expansion’s release, Loas are the trolls’ venerable spirits. In Hearthstone, Loas appear in-game as legendary minions. At the start of Rumble Run, players have to pick one of three shrines, each dedicated to one of the Loa. Furthermore, Rikkar’s portrait will update based on team colors when he enters the Arena.

Shrines

In Rumble Run, shrines start each game in play. The shrines provide useful bonuses for the player. Unlike normal cards in Hearthstone, shrines do not get removed from the board upon destruction. Instead they stay dormant for three turns before coming online again. There are three possible shrines for each class, bring up the total to 27 shrines in game.

Deck building

Rikkar starts off with only 10 cards at the start of his Arena journey. With each challenge completed, players will gain more cards to build a much better deck. Depending on the player’s playstyle, players can draft various cards into their custom deck to fit their strategy.
