We all know that Nintendo has cut a deal with Apple so that Super Mario Run is only available on the iOS, but it doesn’t stop the developer of Onduck Games to come up with their own version! Onduck Games created Super Plumber Run as a spin off or a total rip off of Super Mario Run. Even the name is a little ambiguous (noting that Mario IS a plumber). However the game is free-to-play and it is on Google Play Store.

The Plumber like in Super Mario Run, runs automatically across your screen and you only need to tap to jump or double tap to stomp. Stomping allows you to kill enemies, break bricks below your feet and obtain coins from the gold boxes. The game is simple which only requires you to tap on the screen just like Super Mario Run. However one thing that’s different is the mushroom ability where the plumber grows big on the first mushroom, but the second one would make him a giant which makes him invulnerable for a short time before returning to his original size. Well we’ve seen that in Super Mario Bros. There are a couple of power ups in the game that are familiar from the Mario universe like the plumber in a boot.

There is however a difference between these 2 games. Super Mario Run has worlds and a total of 24 stages while Super Plumber Run has none! There are no stages to choose from in the game but every new run, the stages are different. Basically the game is a survival run which will only end if you lose your life. The plumber will keep running and you will have to continue to tap through the obstacle course until the plumber dies and reach a high score. Also with the coins garnered from the run, you can purchase power ups for your little plumber!

It’s not an entire rip off of Super Mario Run, but it does help fill up the void for a title such as Super Mario Run that is exclusive only for the iOS. In time, when the deal is over, Super Mario Run may be finally released for Android users. Till then, why not fill that little void with this game, or just pick up something else if you don’t fancy it.
