Pokemon, one of the world’s most beloved video game franchise, is possibly getting a new mobile game. If true, it marks a big step for the franchise. Currently, only Niantic’s Pokemon GO made an impact on the mobile gaming genre.

According to the LinkedIn update from The Pokemon Company International, they are looking for a principle game designer or at least someone to lead the design team. For those who do not know, the company produces Pokemon games and handles licensing of the brand. Back to the topic, the job highlights the creation of an upcoming mobile game.

Among the details within the post, the experience with Unity engine stood out. The Pokemon Company had in a way revealed the engine that the new mobile game will run on. Furthermore, this may lead to porting of the game to other platforms. The Unity engine allows easy porting to other platforms. From this, we may see the upcoming game getting ported to other platforms especially Nintendo platforms.

Other than that, the job post lists down some of the more standard aspects of the job. This entails the ability to communicate properly with the team and ensuring a fun environment to work in. Whoever takes the job will have a monumental task of leading the development of a new game for the franchise.

At the moment, with only the job post on the site, not much information is available. We will have to wait for The Pokemon Company to officially announce a new project or game.
