Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 is a game that you don’t want to miss out on by SEGA. If you’re already a fan of the SMT series, then it’s only tradition that you should play this mobile version as well. Not convinced if you should download the game on your mobile? 1. A Great Lore Is Never A Bore

One of the many things we loved about the SMT series is the lore. The story that makes the game interesting which lets us dwell into the mysterious world of demons. After years into its series, Atlus has never failed to generate an interesting story for their games. With many interesting characters in the game like Taro Fuse, Rika Ryuzouji and more, there are plenty of hilarious conversations as well.

It’s also a good thing that as players, we get to pick our choice of answers during certain conversations which allows players to get more immersive gameplay experience. Players will also get to converse with demons as well to bring them to your side (Demon Talk) which is a feature brought over from the previous SMT series like in Nocturne. The Demon Talks aren’t as easy though. However, if you could learn the trick, it can seem easy.

2. Deep And Complex Combat System

Since it is a Japanese game, the combat system follows the traditional strategic turn-based battle system. With many elements involved as well like the 6 elements from the SMT series Normal, Fire, Ice, Shock, Wind, Light and Dark. As each demon have their own strength and weaknesses, players will need to form their teams strategically consisting of the different elements to counter or resist. By exploiting the enemy’s weakness, players even get extra turns just like in Nocturne.

Of course, there are also Brands that can give positive effects which enhances or further strengthens your demons. With 5 slots equipable on each part of the demon’s Head, Right Arm, Left Arm, Body, and Legs – when multiple of the same type are equipped, it will provide a set effect which gives a huge boost to your favorite demon.

3. Demons, Demons And MORE Demons

But it’s not always fighting and bulldozing your way through. As mentioned, Demon Talks do occur during combat which will allow players to recruit demons unexpectedly and randomly. So if that demon denies your offer or you’ve failed to recruit them, you could just defeat them, move on and hope that you could trigger the Demon Talk with them again to try to recruit them, again. OR you can try fusing your demons to get a new demon – with an already complete guide of recipe in the game that tells you what you need to get what you want!

With over 160 different Demons from the original series for collection, this is pretty much like filling up your Pokedex if you’re the collector type of gamer. There are at least 32 Demon races in the game and each of them have a short description about them. But that doesn’t stop some of the players to leave a comment about them – and they are HILARIOUS!

If you are in need of a new profile picture, you can even take a picture with your favorite Demons with the AR mode! As you can see above, we’ve taken a picture with Jack Frost himself! Just select the AR mode button that’s available on the Hideout screen or the Demon Info screen. Do bear in mind that you’ll need to find an area that’s flat and spacious to summon your Demon! Now go show off your favorite Demons by taking a picture with them!

4. Plenty Of Events And Game Modes

You might not notice it but there are many game modes in there which will keep you on your toes. There are tons of activities to do like the Aura Gate, Eclipse, Hell’s Park, Strange Signal and the Dx2 Duel. If these aren’t enough, the developers also tossed in some durational events in there which will net you with rewards. That’s also more resources for you to evolve or awaken your demons.

5. F2P Friendly 

Most importantly, the game is F2P friendly. Even the developer of the game mentioned in a video they posted that the game is unlike most games out there which offers F2P players the same capability to reach the level of paying users. Of course, spending in a game is a choice but what’s better than not spending money at all?

With over 160 different Demons in the game which all can be enhanced and evolved to their maximum of 5*, even their awakened forms, there’s really no need to spend money to get strong and complete the content. While there is still a gacha system, it’s not necessary to spend on them as you can usually recruit them during your explorations.

Overall, Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 is a great game to be on your mobile phone as it is rich in story and events which keeps you busy when you have plenty of free time. As a FREE game that’s F2P friendly, it’s hard to pass by such an application that offers so much.
