Developer MINTROCKET announced that its hit 2023 game Dave the Diver will be coming to both iOS and Android on September 17, with pre-registrations available now. A mobile port was exclusively available in China since February, with the devs reportedly improving it since then.
Fans of the game will notice that the new announcement is now one month later than what the devs originally revealed in their dev diary. According to MINTROCKET head Jaeho Hwang, the team decided to take more time to provide a better experience.
Hwang further elaborated that they don’t want to cut corners and want to provide the same experience of both the console and PC versions to mobile players.
The announcement also revealed that the devs are working on exclusive mobile features. One example they provided involves the tea-pouring feature of the game where players can tilt their phones as opposed to pressing the screen.

Dave the Diver Mobile port has also made changes to improve its accessibility. For instance, players can customize the game’s UI to their liking through button mapping and scaling.
Jaeho Hwang also revealed how mobile players can easily teleport directly to NPCs for a more convenient way to travel in the Sea People’s Village area.

Dave the Diver Mobile is priced at $9.99 and comes with the full game with no ads. Additionally, the ‘In the Jungle’ expansion will also be available at launch, priced at $4.99, while the Dredge crossover DLC will be free.
Mobile players have long been waiting for the release of this adventure/fishing/restaurant management hybrid, but it seems to be worth it, as the devs are taking extra time to polish the experience and provide mobile-specific features to make the game experience smoother.
