Japanese developer qureate recently released Bunny Garden 2 on April 16 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, and it wasted no time making its presence known on the charts. The game is the official sequel to their bunny girl romance adventure title, Bunny Garden.

Shortly after launch, qureate confirmed that Bunny Garden 2 debuted at number one on Japan’s Top Sellers ranking on Steam. As of April 17, the game has since moved to second place, sitting just below the recently released Pragmata. On the Nintendo Switch side, Japanese players are reporting that the game also topped the sales ranking on the My Nintendo Store.

What makes the Switch performance particularly notable is that the Nintendo Switch version of the game comes with certain content restrictions, including limitations on suggestive poses, expressions, and camera controls. Despite that, it still managed to claim the top spot on Nintendo’s storefront.

As for the game itself, Bunny Garden 2 keeps the same core gameplay loop from the original, where players spend time with the girls at the so-called “gentlemen’s retreat.” The sequel brings in new characters, new minigames, and expanded ASMR features. One of the new additions is the “Blindfolded Tag” minigame, which uses spatial audio and ASMR to create the feeling of being chased and teased by the girls. There is also a “forbidden” open-wide game centered around feeding, and a risqué minigame drawn from Japanese karuta.

On top of the sequel’s release, qureate revealed back in February that another new spinoff from the Bunny Garden series is currently in development.
