Kojima Productions has confirmed that DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is now Steam Deck Verified, meaning the game is not just playable on the handheld device but fully optimized and ready to go right out of the box without any extra setup needed.
The game picks up with Sam and his companions as they work to save humanity from extinction. Like the first game, players travel across an open world delivering cargo while dealing with all kinds of dangerous creatures along the way.

DEATH STRANDING 2 also brings back the series’ signature asynchronous multiplayer. This means that while you’re not directly playing with others in real time, the things other players do in their own games can show up in your world for you to use as you gradually link up the map. No PlayStation Plus subscription is needed to take part in these features.
The PC release, developed with the help of Nixxes Software, is not just a straight port. It comes with new content, including To The Wilder, a new high-difficulty mode that puts greater demands on route planning, weather management, and resource conservation. Previously cut live-action cutscenes that were removed from the original release due to storage limitations have also been restored, filling in some narrative gaps from the original game. Players who link a PlayStation account to the PC version also get an exclusive delivery suit and backpack charm.

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is currently available on PlayStation 5, Steam Deck, and PC through both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
