Publisher New Blood Interactive and developer Airdorf Games have confirmed that FAITH: The Unholy Trinity will launch on PlayStation 5 on April 9. The pixel-art horror collection, already available on other platforms, continues its steady rollout with a dedicated release for Sony’s current-generation console.
Originally released for PC in October 2022, the retro-inspired horror trilogy later arrived on Nintendo Switch in October 2024 and Xbox Series X|S in October 2025. With its PlayStation 5 debut, the complete trilogy becomes accessible to an even wider audience of console horror fans.

A Retro Horror Experience Inspired by the 1980s

FAITH: The Unholy Trinity is widely recognized for its distinctive lo-fi presentation and psychological horror themes rooted in the religious anxieties of the 1980s. Drawing inspiration from the era commonly referred to as the Satanic Panic, the game blends minimalist pixel visuals with unsettling audio design to create a uniquely tense atmosphere.
Set in rural Connecticut, the story begins on September 21, 1986, when two priests arrive at the Martin family home to investigate a suspected case of demonic possession. Only two people would leave the house alive. This chilling premise sets the stage for a trilogy that explores possession, cult activity, and supernatural terror through a deliberately restrained but effective visual style reminiscent of classic 8-bit games.

Players rely primarily on a holy crucifix to perform exorcisms, defend themselves from possessed enemies, and cleanse cursed objects encountered throughout haunted forests, abandoned churches, and cult-controlled locations. The gameplay emphasizes tension and vulnerability, reinforcing the unsettling tone that defines the trilogy.
Experience the Full Trilogy in One Collection

The PlayStation 5 release includes all three chapters that make up The Unholy Trinity, allowing players to experience the complete narrative arc from beginning to end.
The first chapter follows a young priest returning to the site of a failed exorcism that continues to haunt him long after the original incident. Chapter II expands the scope of the supernatural threat as the protagonist confronts increasingly dangerous paranormal forces after narrowly escaping the events of the first game. Chapter III raises the stakes further, sending the priest across the countryside with the help of a mysterious ally to stop a Satanic cult from summoning a powerful demon.
Together, the three chapters form a cohesive story that gradually escalates both its horror elements and narrative complexity.
Old-School Presentation with Modern Horror Impact

One of FAITH: The Unholy Trinity’s defining features is its intentionally retro aesthetic. The game uses chunky pixel art inspired by early console-era visuals, but pairs this style with modern horror pacing and sound design techniques that heighten suspense in unexpected ways.
Hand-crafted rotoscope animations bring unsettling realism to character movement despite the minimalist presentation, while the retro-inspired soundtrack reinforces the atmosphere of dread and isolation. The experience is further enhanced by multiple endings, including hidden variations that encourage replayability and deeper exploration.

Another standout feature is the use of distorted voice samples styled after vintage speech synthesizers. These eerie audio cues add an additional layer of authenticity to the game’s 1980s setting while contributing to its overall psychological tension.
Expanding the Audience on PlayStation 5

The arrival of FAITH: The Unholy Trinity on PlayStation 5 marks another milestone for the indie horror title as it continues reaching new players across platforms. Its combination of retro visuals, religious horror themes, and narrative-driven progression has helped it stand out among modern indie horror releases since its original PC debut.
With its full trilogy included in one package and its distinctive atmosphere intact, the PlayStation 5 version offers console players a complete opportunity to experience one of the most recognizable retro-inspired horror collections in recent years.
